Don’t forget y’all that there’s a much better way for us to let Tumblr know what we think about specific changes, rather than @ ing staff or wip, and it’s sending in a support ticket and choosing feedback!
Tumblr reverted some of the asinine app decisions they made after a concerted feedback effort! So make sure to use this form! It’s what it’s for, but it’s not well advertised!
Yesterday I was birding in a wildlife refuge and this huge dog without a leash and no owner in sight ran up to me and started barking at me, and getting closer and closer. Literally thought it was going to pounce. It had a collar, but no owner in sight. I’m not afraid of dogs, but I am afraid of any large animal that’s angry and has the capacity to knock me over. After about five minutes of this dog growling at me and me trying to calm it down, its owner finally showed up, and was like……“oh haha I thought he was yelling at an animal.” As if it would have been normal and fine for the dog to attack the wildlife.
It’s a wildlife refuge. There are endangered species that live there. Dogs are required to be leashed at the park…you know why?? Precisely because dogs like to go after birds and other small creatures.
This isn’t even the first time I’ve dealt with unleashed dogs….
I was at a beach, collecting seashells and birding, when a huge pitbull ran up to me growling. Thankfully it didn’t attack and just sniffed my bag, but the owner was just a speck in the horizon, didn’t care that their dog was running around doing god knows what. The dog could have gone after the wildlife, too.
People letting their cats roam free outdoors 🤝 People that let their dogs run around without a leash:

It’s not just wildlife. It’s other people dogs too.
I dogsat for a coworker who had a not-always-friendly-to-other-dogs dog. She was also 20 pounds and easy to carry if needed, but sometimes she was fine with other dogs and sometimes she chose violence.
I took Doggo on walks several times over the week I watched her. Always in places dogs are required to be on leash. Always during times we were less likely to run into other people walking dogs.
In one such place, a park near where the coworker lived, we stopped to sit on a bench (Doggo sat up next to me for love) for a few minutes. Out of nowhere a large pitbull bounded up to us.
I immediately scooped up Doggo, stood, and turned to face the pibble. While the pibble was clearly just excited and happy, the owner was a significant distance away.
Owner once he got to us, with a big grin: Oh don’t worry she’s friendly! She loves other dogs too! Me, holding a clearly upset dog: Mine isn;t and she doesn’t.
The look on his face made it clear that other dogs not being friendly wasn’t even a thought he had when he took the leash, that was in his hand, off his dog. Again in a park with numerous “Keep your dog leashed!” signs.
As I walked by with a now growling dog in my arms, I told him he needed to keep his dog on a leash - like the park required. I carried her until we were out of sight and she was calm.
If I hadn’t responded like I did, there could have been major problems from not only me and the dog I was walking, but also the other dog and owner.
Not everyone has dog-friendly (or even people-friendly) dogs. Give unknown dogs space and for God’s sake:
Meghan was a working actress for decades. She was a working royal for 18 months. She benefits massively from her show reaching syndication. She stands to lose depending on how Netflix negotiated residuals for Suits with it being out of cable reruns now.
Meghan knows what it’s like to scrimp and scrap for years. She was a working actress doing bit parts her whole 20s!
The fact is that honestly if she didn’t marry Harry, Suits might have been her biggest hit and again residuals would have a huge impact on her. She completely has a leg to stand on joining this fight. Just like she had one speaking up for BLM.
In fact, A-Listers NEED to be using their spotlight to highlight the strike and the working actors who make up the bulk of Hollywood who don’t make millions per movie. It’s important that people like Meryl Streep or Jennifer Lawrence or Matt Damon or Margot Robbie join the strike. A-list talent walking off set and refusing to take part in press and promo is part of what gives the Union huge bargaining power even if those elite actors are not necessarily hurting financially. But also, a lot of A-Listers also have huge stakes in the fight because it’s also about control of their image and their long term financial profit, too.
Meghan is a producer now with a new production company. If she wants top talent on her productions she needs to be ten toes down in solidarity, too.
Meghan was/is SAG. The Union protected her as a working actress, she can use the outrageous spotlight on her to stand in solidarity and to support working actors.
A lot of people don’t seem to know that a bunch of older stars end up in poverty. Fame is fleeting. The glamorous role often doesn’t pay as well as you think.

Every worker needs unions. Bit-part workers need A-lister solidarity. Being an A-lister doesn’t last forever.

Holy SHIT. I just finished reading a related article, and y’all, this was so corrupt OTHER SFPD COPS ARE STANDING WITH THE KIDS.
Like basically their take is “yeah, some kids were being unruly. Y’all handled it ENTIRELY the wrong way and there is zero reason this should have happened.” There was an official meeting (I think like a monthly town hall kind of thing? I forgot to take note when I read it) and the cop who’s in charge of internal conduct investigation was there and he. Was. PISSED. And inviting parents and teens involved to give their testimony on the specifics of the rights violations they experienced so he could follow up and make full reports.
Like you KNOW shit’s fucked when even other police are looking at the police chief and saying “what the fuck is wrong with you?”
